What is tallow skincare?
Tallow is a traditional, nutrient-rich fat that closely resembles the natural oils in our skin. Because of this, it absorbs beautifully and supports the skin barrier without unnecessary fillers or synthetics.
What skin types is Solmé suitable for?
Our formulas are designed for all skin types, including sensitive and reactive skin. Many people with dry, combination, or acne-prone skin find tallow especially supportive.
Can I use this on my face?
Yes. Our whip is gentle enough for the face and rich enough for the body, an all-in-one approach to simple, effective skincare.
Will it clog my pores?
Tallow is considered non-comedogenic for most people and is well-tolerated due to its similarity to our skin’s natural oils. As with any skincare, we recommend patch testing if you’re unsure.
Does it feel greasy?
A little goes a long way. When applied to slightly damp skin in small amounts, it melts in and absorbs, leaving skin soft and nourished rather than heavy.
Ingredients and Safety
What ingredients do you use?
We use a small number of carefully selected ingredients: grass-fed/finished tallow and supportive plant oils. That’s it, no fillers, no synthetic additives.
Where is your tallow sourced from?
Our tallow comes from local grass-fed and finished cattle, chosen for quality and nutrient density.
Are your products safe for sensitive skin?
Yes. Our unscented blend is especially suited for highly sensitive skin, babies, and those who prefer a completely fragrance-free option.
Do your products contain fragrance?
We never use synthetic fragrance. Some blends contain a very low percentage of pure essential oils for a subtle, natural scent, but it is less than 1% of the formulation.
Are your products safe during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
Our unscented blend is a gentle, simple option often chosen during pregnancy and postpartum. If you have specific concerns, it’s always best to consult with your healthcare provider.
Can I use this on babies or children?
Yes, many families use our unscented blend for babies and children due to its simple, nourishing ingredients.

What is the difference between your blends?
Each blend is built on the same nourishing tallow base, with slight variations in oils and essential oils to create different experiences. Our unscented option is the most minimal and suitable for highly sensitive skin.
Which blend is right for me?
If you prefer no scent or have very sensitive skin, choose our unscented blend. If you enjoy a subtle, natural aroma, our other blends offer a gentle sensory experience while still being skin-focused.
How to use
How do I use tallow whip?
Apply a small amount to clean, slightly damp skin. Warm it between your fingers and gently massage into the skin.
How often should I use it?
Use once or twice daily, or whenever your skin needs extra nourishment.
Can I use it with other skincare products?
Yes. It pairs well with a simple routine and can be used as your final step to lock in moisture.
Can I use it on my body as well?
Absolutely. It’s designed to be used anywhere your skin needs support, face, hands and body.
How long does one jar last?
Because only a small amount is needed, each jar typically lasts several weeks to a few months depending on use, and what size jar.
Storage & Care
How should I store my product?
Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight.
Will it melt?
Because it’s made with natural ingredients, it may soften or melt in warmer temperatures. This doesn’t affect its quality. Simply stir and allow it to re-solidify if needed.
What is the shelf life?
Our products are best used within 12 months.

Where do you ship?
We currently ship within Canada and the USA. For other locations, feel free to reach out.
How long does shipping take?
Orders are processed within a few days, with shipping times depending on your location.
Do you offer returns?
Due to the nature of our products, we’re unable to accept returns, but please reach out if there’s an issue, we’re always happy to help.
What if my product arrives melted or damaged?
Please note that we’re unable to offer refunds or replacements for products that have softened or melted in transit. Because our formulas are made with pure, natural ingredients, texture may shift in warmer temperatures.
If this happens, your whip is still perfectly usable, just more concentrated, similar to a balm. If you’d like guidance on restoring its light, whipped consistency, we’re always here to help.
We take great care in packaging every order. If your product arrives damaged, please contact us and we’ll be happy to help.
Do you offer local pickup?
Yes! Free local pickup is available weekly at Oldhand Coffee in Abbotsford, BC.
Pickup orders are available Wednesdays from 12pm-5pm and Thursdays from 8am-5pm.
Orders placed after Tuesday at 8pm will be ready the following week.
Please pick up your order during the scheduled pickup window, as we are unable to store orders at the pickup location long-term.
